The first CASE CX85E midi excavator has arrived at Harbour Lights Campsite, a family-run site located at the southwestern tip of the Lake District, UK. Supplied by Dennis Barnfield, the machine is fitted with an Engcon EC209 tilt-rotator and Trimble 2D machine guidance system, providing high efficiency and precision for various tasks around the campsite.
Harbour Lights, open year-round, offers a mix of tents, caravans, motorhomes, and an increasing number of static holiday homes. Jason Attwood, the campsite’s owner, plans to add 100 more static holiday homes over the next four years, and the CX85E will be pivotal in constructing the new concrete bases and landscaping the site, which includes small lakes and water features.
Mr. Attwood, experienced with operating older excavators and loaders, found the CASE CX85E to be the perfect choice, largely due to its proximity to the local dealer and its comfortable cab design. The excavator’s joystick-controlled tracks stood out as a major feature, simplifying movement across the large site. “The joystick tracking was a game-changer for us,” he commented.
The CX85E has a number of features to ensure top-notch performance, including a custom counterweight for increased stability and lifting capability when using the tilt-rotator. With a Stage V diesel engine and an eHPQ Rexroth electronic pump, the excavator provides ample power for various tasks, while the hydraulic system’s adjustable circuits give operators full control over the machine’s performance.
With its growing fleet and expanding operations, the CX85E will undoubtedly play a key role in helping Harbour Lights Campsite continue to grow and improve its services for visitors.
