Excavators got skid steer abilities from Blade Buddy Bucket

Blade brothers Canada has introduced a new attachment for excavators that allows operators to perform most of the functions of both excavators. Blade mate is a 40-inch-deep bucket mounted to most 5-6.5-foot excavator blades without the use of auxiliary hydraulic.

Due to the company’s so-called “Center Mount Cradle System,”the attached blade partner is separated by lifting the excavator blade to the rear mount and then lowering the blade release. Dual-position pins also allow the bucket to quickly move from carrying material to dumping it.

Dumping or spreading material can be done by separating the bucket from the blade and picking it up with a backhoe bucket. The conversion can be done in seconds and allows for Scooping, dumping, spreading, loading and more. The blade partner can also be fitted with detachable bucket extensions mounted on either side.

These extensions allow operators to place items longer than the barrel width, such as logs and timber, in a safe place. As the video below demonstrates, in addition to lifting and lowering the bucket like a slippery steer to load the blade partner, the operator can also use the excavator bucket to load the bucket in the digging and grasping application. Blade partners will be available in the U.S. and Canada in the fall. A model of a 38 inch wide miniature excavator will be released in January.
