The compact excavator launched decades ago brought a new generation of contractors into the field of heavy equipment. It is no exaggeration to say that their unique performance attributes have completely changed the structure.
Kobelco has always been a key participant in this revolution and continues to improve and upgrade the model to keep the performance curve on the rise.
The company’s latest model, the next generation sk55srx-7, follows the Kobelco performance x design concept to improve productivity and replicate the feeling and operator comfort of large excavator models.
Small floor area
Sk55srx-7 is a short radius machine with compact tail swing and small floor area. It is suitable for confined spaces such as urban or residential construction sites. The standard arm length is 5 feet 7 inches, but for work that requires additional extension, you can specify a 6 feet 4 inches arm. Both are pre installed with thumb stands.
The standard counterweight model sk55srx-7 with a roof weighs 11817 pounds. The cab weighs 12147 pounds.
It runs on a 37 horsepower Yangma diesel engine. The maximum excavation height of the standard arm is 19 feet 6 inches.
On the ground, the new excavator reached 20 feet. The excavation depth is 12 feet 9 inches and the working width is 6 feet 5 inches.
Hydraulic = performance
Nothing can affect the performance of a compact excavator more than the hydraulic system. Compared with the previous 6e series, the sk55srx-7 reduces the excavation cycle time by 7%, thanks to the improved hydraulic performance.
The redesigned travel motor increases the travel speed by 12% and the climbing speed by 10%.
Other hydraulic system benefits include smoother operation and improved leveling performance. The integrated flow pump system uses the additional output of the third pump, otherwise it supplies power to the swing and bulldozer circuits. This output is directed to the boom and boom to increase power during excavation, enabling fast and smooth lifting operations even under heavy loads.

Reinforced cab
In terms of operator safety, the high-strength cab / roof complies with ROPS, tops and OPG level 1 (top protection) standards.
When leaving the factory, the new LED work lights are installed on the boom, front top and left side of the cab. Mesh front and top cab guards are available as options.
The wiper bracket has also been moved to the upper right of the cab bracket, and the sunroof opening has been expanded to improve the operator’s vision.
Additional details
A two-way bulldozer with a float is standard. The unique blade design ensures that the material is dumped forward without falling behind the blade when bulldozing, so it usually needs only one pass.
The boom, boom and swing bracket all have large cross-sectional parts to increase the connection strength. The bolt tightened pin firmly locks the boom to prevent the top of the boom from opening laterally.
The bucket adopts cast iron idler link, and the box type bulldozer support provides additional strength.
The newly designed cab improves ergonomics, allowing the operator to move the lever horizontally without twisting his wrist. The increased wrist support keeps the operator’s forearm in place, reducing fatigue and achieving stable operation.
In S mode (energy saving), sk55srx-7 uses 26% less fuel than H mode, and the automatic deceleration switch is standard.
