YANMAR Brand Brief

Yanmar Co., Ltd. is a Japanese diesel engine, heavy machinery and agricultural machinery manufacturer. It was founded in March 1912 in Osaka, Japan by Magokichi Yamaoka. Yanmar brand name is adopted since 1921. As a main engine supplier in Japan, Yanmar’s main production facilities were heavily damaged during World War II. In 1971, YB600 mini excavator series launched. Yanmar manufactures and sells engines used in a wide range of applications including seagoing vessels, pleasure boats, construction equipment, agricultural equipment and generator sets. It also manufactures and sells climate control systems and aquafarming systems, in addition to providing a range of remote monitoring services. In 2012, Yanmar was awarded Tier IV certification for vertical water cooled diesel engines by the California Air Resources Board (CARB). In 2013, Yanmar was certified by Swiss Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN) for engines in the 19-37kW class.
